Weekend in St. Louis

Finally we have decided to take a break in our studies and set off for a weekend to the 58th-largest US city - St. Louis, Missouri.

Since "Chicago" musical was defined to be the main purpose of our trip, firs of all we headed to Fox theatre to pick up tickets:

As soon as the tickets were with us, we headed to the hotel to leave there some stuff before exploring the city. Should be noted, that our hotel, Missouri Athletic Club, was a very worthy :

The main attraction of the city is the Gateway Arch, 192m monument opened to public in June, 1967. By  the way it is Missouri's tallest accessible building and the world's tallest arch.

On the one side of the arch there are steps  overlooking the river:

Are we a team?

And the other side offers a beautiful view on the downtown:

Couldn't help but to make few flying photos under the arch:

For some $10 a tiny elevator, in which one can't even stand up right, will raise you to the top of the arch from where, through weeny windows, you can enjoy a great view of the city skyline:

A nice spot to take pictures on the lawn next to the arch:

In the evening, as planned, we went to the theatre. And even though the Broadway production of Chicago, it's still not Сats, even in the Russian version, we've remained incredibly pleased with the show. And the Fabulous Fox theater itself amazed us with its interior.

Later in the night we have crossed the river to have a look at the arch from another point:

The most part of the Sunday we have spent in the City museum. Actually this place is only called to be a museum an, as noticed by Lucian is more like a big playgroun. On the roof top you can ride an observation weel:

For those who doesn't like heights and has already rolled on all slides inside the museum there is a craft studio. Together with Anna we gave there free rein to our imaginations:

The rest part of the day we were enjoying the scenery of the city  just by walking around or lying on the lawn in parks:
